Creative Ignition aims to put creativity at the heart of education, using the creative arts as a powerful tool to deepen learning and nurture the essential skills we all need for the future.
How Do We Do This?
Not rows of desks and a voice from the front. Picture a room where people sit in groups, working in teams: a primary classroom, a training room, a community hall. The room is relaxed, but every mind in it is busy. They are taking what they know and using it to build new stories and solve problems together.
A stage director moves between them. Listening. Questioning. Pushing their thinking further. As ideas take shape, a composer asks the group to translate them into sound. A phrase. A note. A rhythm that helps the learning stick.
Over the programme, the group will compose, rehearse and perform an original piece built on what they have been studying. By the end, they are not just recalling content. They are interpreting it, making decisions about it, and presenting it with confidence.
The teachers and leaders in the room watch it happen. Then they learn to do it themselves, with simple creative tools anyone can use.
This is Creative Ignition at work. The room changes. The method doesn't.
Who We Are
We are a charitable organisation that uses drama, music, visual art and movement to strengthen learning and build the skills young people need to thrive.
The creative arts have been pushed to the margins of the curriculum. Creative Ignition exists to change that.
Our Creative Igniters work alongside educators and leaders, not in front of them: modelling creative arts methods in action and equipping people to use them long after our programmes end. They don't just watch something happen. They learn how to make it happen themselves.
Collaboration, confidence, critical thinking, the ability to question, debate and lead: the World Economic Forum ranks these among the skills we will all need. Creative Ignition builds them at every age, and gives educators the tools to keep building them.
Building human intelligence is the most important response to artificial intelligence. The creative arts are the
